Happy Fall Friday!

 Happy First Friday of Fall!

I hope you had a fabulous week!  We had another wonderful week!  The kids are working so hard, participating and staying focused!

If your student is participating in a sport, I would love to try my best to come see them play.  Please send me their schedule and I will try my best to come out and support them!

On Sunday early evening, I would love to have a whole class read aloud.  I have a book that I feel fits perfectly with how every one is working together to support our students and would like to share it with your student and your family.  If you would like to join us, please login to our Zoom link (same Zoom link students use for class) at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday and we will share the book together.  This is completely optional and I understand if you are not able to come, I just wanted to invite everyone.

  • We will learn about story elements and making connections in books.

Writing

  • We will start writing a narrative next week.  We will discuss the characteristics of narrative writing.
  • We are still working on complete sentences with capital letters and punctuation.
  • The first narrative will be about a time they experienced a storm.

  • We will be starting unit 2 next week.
  • This unit introduces r-controlled vowels.  During this unit, we will focus on reading words with r-controlled vowels, but not yet writing them.
  • Our trick words for next week are full, pull, shall.  Last week's words were you, your, was, said, one, they.  You can still practice these words also.
